Los Angeles Times: "The latest predeparture sanctuary that will land at LAX? It’s from a company best known for its bank branches. Chase announced on Thursday it will open a 9,234-square-foot Sapphire Lounge at Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT), near Gate 148. An opening date was not shared."
Shout out to my friend Chris Dong for his first story in the LA Times!
Chase has increased the welcome offers for 4 of their co-branded United credit cards by 10,000 miles.

View From The Wing: "Turkish Airlines flies to more countries than any other carrier in the world. They already fly to 14 U.S. cities with the recent launch of Denver and Dallas. The airline isn’t coy about expansion plans. Their Chairman gave an interview where he telegraphed their next four U.S. cities: Philadelphia, Charlotte, Orlando, and Minneapolis."
Hilton has announced the benefits that will be available to members at Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) properites:
The first SLH properties available via Hilton include:
If you have have the World of Hyatt credit card, you can now earn 4x points per dollar when you stay at a Mr. & Mrs. Smith property. Redeeming Hyatt points for a stay at Mr. & Mrs. Smith properties is still a poor value proposition but at least you can earn more points on cash stays.
Keep in mind that Mr. & Mrs. Smith doesn't own any properties. It is a booking platform that has a collection of luxury hotels. Booking via Hyatt may not be the best way to book these properties as some are part of preferred booking programs like Virtuoso. By booking via one of these preferred booking programs, you can get VIP perks added to your stay.
I'll need to confirm, but it seems like you could still earn 4x when paying at the property when booking via one of these programs.
If you'd like to book your hotel stay with VIP perks, you can submit a request here.
Loyalty Lobby: "Hyatt has now launched its Summer Sale for stays in the Americas."
"The discount is up to 15%, and World of Hyatt members are eligible for an additional undisclosed discount. The sale is valid for stays through January 5, 2025, and you must book using special offer code STAYNOW by July 9."
Award Wallet: "Air Canada's offer for status holders and those with any Aeroplan co-branded credit card (yes, this includes the Chase-issued Aeroplan® Credit Card) is simple. Sign up for the free-to-join I Prefer program through a promotional link and get a year of Titanium status."
"Or, if you already belong to the I Prefer program, you can activate your offer in one of two ways: Call Aeroplan at 800-361-5373 or visit the I Prefer contact page and fill out a form to register your interest. If you take the form route, click “General Program Questions, ” mention the Aeroplan promo, and share your Aeroplan member number."

Lifemiles is running a promo for buying miles in which you can get up to a 155% bonus when buy miles. With the 155% bonus offer, you can buy lifemiles for 1.29 cents per mile if you purchase at least 36,000 miles. If you purchase fewer miles, the bonus will be 145%.
While LifeMiles typically offers different promo rates to members, this appears to be a set promo rate available to everyone. This promo runs through July 11, 2024.
This is the lowest bonus offer lifemiles has offered since October 2023.
Points Wire Note:
Previously, LifeMiles sold miles directly. However, they're now using the Points.com platform which means the purchase won't code as an airline.
This means your best bet is to use a credit card that earns 2x on everything such as the Capital One Venture, Capital One Venture X, Capital One Venture X Business, Amex Blue Business Plus, or Citi Double Cash. If you recently opened the Chase Freedom Unlimited with the offer for unlimited matched cash back for 12 months, you could earn 3%/3x.
The Points Guy: "After halting applications in March 2023, the U.S. Department of State has reopened its pilot program to allow Americans to renew passports online."
"As of Wednesday, a limited number of applications will open daily at 1 p.m. Eastern time on a first-come, first-served basis."
